Fixes build. Closes #5132
2020-03-18schannel: add "best effort" revocation check optionJohannes Schindelin
- Implement new option CURLSSLOPT_REVOKE_BEST_EFFORT and --ssl-revoke-best-effort to allow a "best effort" revocation check. A best effort revocation check ignores errors that the revocation check was unable to take place. The reasoning is described in detail below and discussed further in the PR. --- When running e.g. with Fiddler, the schannel backend fails with an unhelpful error message: Unknown error (0x80092012) - The revocation function was unable to check revocation for the certificate. Sadly, many enterprise users who are stuck behind MITM proxies suffer the very same problem. This has been discussed in plenty of issues: https://github.com/curl/curl/issues/3727, https://github.com/curl/curl/issues/264, for example. In the latter, a Microsoft Edge developer even made the case that the common behavior is to ignore issues when a certificate has no recorded distribution point for revocation lists, or when the server is offline. This is also known as "best effort" strategy and addresses the Fiddler issue. Unfortunately, this strategy was not chosen as the default for schannel (and is therefore a backend-specific behavior: OpenSSL seems to happily ignore the offline servers and missing distribution points). To maintain backward-compatibility, we therefore add a new flag (`CURLSSLOPT_REVOKE_BEST_EFFORT`) and a new option (`--ssl-revoke-best-effort`) to select the new behavior. Due to the many related issues Git for Windows and GitHub Desktop, the plan is to make this behavior the default in these software packages. The test 2070 was added to verify this behavior, adapted from 310. 2020-01-11ngtcp2: Add an error code for QUIC connection errorsEmil Engler
- Add new error code CURLE_QUIC_CONNECT_ERROR for QUIC connection errors. Prior to this change CURLE_FAILED_INIT was used, but that was not correct. Closes https://github.com/curl/curl/pull/4754
2020-01-11multi: Change curl_multi_wait/poll to error on negative timeoutJay Satiro
- Add new error CURLM_BAD_FUNCTION_ARGUMENT and return that error when curl_multi_wait/poll is passed timeout param < 0. Prior to this change passing a negative value to curl_multi_wait/poll such as -1 could cause the function to wait forever. 2019-12-05lib: fix some loose ends for recently added CURLSSLOPT_NO_PARTIALCHAINJay Satiro
Add support for CURLSSLOPT_NO_PARTIALCHAIN in CURLOPT_PROXY_SSL_OPTIONS and OS400 package spec. Also I added the option to the NameValue list in the tool even though it isn't exposed as a command-line option (...yet?). (NameValue stringizes the option name for the curl cmd -> libcurl source generator) Follow-up to 564d88a which added CURLSSLOPT_NO_PARTIALCHAIN. Ref: https://github.com/curl/curl/pull/4655
2019-11-25multi: add curl_multi_wakeup()Gergely Nagy
This commit adds curl_multi_wakeup() which was previously in the TODO list under the curl_multi_unblock name. On some platforms and with some configurations this feature might not be available or can fail, in these cases a new error code (CURLM_WAKEUP_FAILURE) is returned from curl_multi_wakeup(). 2018-12-13OS400: handle memory error in list conversionDaniel Gustafsson
Curl_slist_append_nodup() returns NULL when it fails to create a new item for the specified list, and since the coding here reassigned the new list on top of the old list it would result in a dangling pointer and lost memory. Also, in case we hit an allocation failure at some point during the conversion, with allocation succeeding again on the subsequent call(s) we will return a truncated list around the malloc failure point. Fix by assigning to a temporary list pointer, which can be checked (which is the common pattern for slist appending), and free all the resources on allocation failure. Also sync ILE/RPG binding to define the new functions.
2018-05-28psl: use latest psl and refresh it periodicallyPatrick Monnerat
The latest psl is cached in the multi or share handle. It is refreshed before use after 72 hours. New share lock CURL_LOCK_DATA_PSL controls the psl cache sharing. If the latest psl is not available, the builtin psl is used. Reported-by: Yaakov Selkowitz Fixes #2553 Closes #2601
2018-04-25os400.c: fix ASSIGNWITHINCONDITION checksrc warningsDaniel Gustafsson
All occurrences of assignment within conditional expression in os400sys.c rewritten into two steps: first assignment and then the check on the success of the assignment. Also adjust related incorrect brace positions to match project indentation style. This was spurred by seeing "if((inp = input_token))", but while in there all warnings were fixed. There should be no functional change from these changes. Closes #2525
2018-03-18ILE/RPG binding: Add CURLOPT_HAPROXYPROTOCOL/Fix CURLOPT_DNS_SHUFFLE_ADDRESSESPatrick Monnerat
2018-03-17resolve: add CURLOPT_DNS_SHUFFLE_ADDRESSESRick Deist
This patch adds CURLOPT_DNS_SHUFFLE_ADDRESSES to explicitly request shuffling of IP addresses returned for a hostname when there is more than one. This is useful when the application knows that a round robin approach is appropriate and is willing to accept the consequences of potentially discarding some preference order returned by the system's implementation. Closes #1694
2018-02-23spelling fixesViktor Szakats
Detected using the `codespell` tool. Also contains one URL protocol upgrade. Closes https://github.com/curl/curl/pull/2334
2018-02-22os400: add curl_resolver_start_callback type to ILE/RPG bindingPatrick Monnerat
2018-02-21url: Add option CURLOPT_RESOLVER_START_FUNCTIONFrancisco Sedano
- Add new option CURLOPT_RESOLVER_START_FUNCTION to set a callback that will be called every time before a new resolve request is started (ie before a host is resolved) with a pointer to backend-specific resolver data. Currently this is only useful for ares. - Add new option CURLOPT_RESOLVER_START_DATA to set a user pointer to pass to the resolver start callback. Closes https://github.com/curl/curl/pull/2311
2018-02-21lib: CURLOPT_HAPPY_EYEBALLS_TIMEOUT => CURLOPT_HAPPY_EYEBALLS_TIMEOUT_MSJay Satiro
- In keeping with the naming of our other connect timeout options rename CURLOPT_HAPPY_EYEBALLS_TIMEOUT to CURLOPT_HAPPY_EYEBALLS_TIMEOUT_MS. This change adds the _MS suffix since the option expects milliseconds. This is more intuitive for our users since other connect timeout options that expect milliseconds use _MS such as CURLOPT_TIMEOUT_MS, CURLOPT_CONNECTTIMEOUT_MS, CURLOPT_ACCEPTTIMEOUT_MS. The tool option already uses an -ms suffix, --happy-eyeballs-timeout-ms. Follow-up to 2427d94 which added the lib and tool option yesterday. Ref: https://github.com/curl/curl/pull/2260
2018-02-20url: Add option CURLOPT_HAPPY_EYEBALLS_TIMEOUTAnders Bakken
- Add new option CURLOPT_HAPPY_EYEBALLS_TIMEOUT to set libcurl's happy eyeball timeout value. - Add new optval macro CURL_HET_DEFAULT to represent the default happy eyeballs timeout value (currently 200 ms). - Add new tool option --happy-eyeballs-timeout-ms to expose CURLOPT_HAPPY_EYEBALLS_TIMEOUT. The -ms suffix is used because the other -timeout options in the tool expect seconds not milliseconds. Closes https://github.com/curl/curl/pull/2260
